Architectural Prints

For this printing project, students were asked to research a famous structure and create a styrofoam printing plate highlighting it within a cityscape. We created a watercolor background showing sky meeting water. The plates were then printed 2.5 times across the horizon line and then reflected in the water below before re-inking. These look great all lined up together!

  1. I am teaching middle school social studies in a school that in encouraging arts integration. I love this idea for part of a social studies lesson, but frankly I'm art impaired. Do you have a step by step process for this that a novice could use to guide students through this process?

  2. I also am interested in some instructions because I have never done a styrofoam print. Do you have perhaps a link to some instructions? Thank you!
