Garden Gnomes...

Garden Gnomes...

Using the same techniques as we have with our "Terracotta Warriors" sculptures, we attempted garden gnomes out of clay this quarter. They turned out well...except for the couple of arms that fell off...and ears...and a cape?...oh, well...better slip and scoring next time!

Now, we are just waiting for the firing process to be over and glazing will begin. More updates later.

  3. These were really fun because you don't have to go by directions and it's something of your own, doing things with clay is funnnnnn. :)

  6. hello!! I'm the garden coordinator at a middle school and am hoping to replicate this process with an art teacher at the school where I work: I LOVE THEM. I'm just wondering what kind of clay you used and if these gnomes ended up staying outside in the garden (and if so, how they held up to the elements).
